Scammers Exploit Instagram Verification Program

Researchers at Vade warn that an email phishing campaign is informing users that their Instagram account is eligible to receive a blue verification badge. If a user clicks the link, they’ll be taken to a spoofed Instagram login page designed to steal their credentials.

The Hacker News - Phishing Campaign Hits 80+ Orgs Using SimpleHelp and ScreenConnect RMM Tools

An active phishing campaign has been observed targeting multiple vectors since at least April 2025, with legitimate Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software as a way to establish persistent remote access to compromised hosts.
