Asset-based Risk Assessment, Part of the Complete Formula

I wanted to share this article with you after Jon Waldman brought it to my attention. We KNOW at SBS CyberSecurity that a quantitative asset-based risk assessment is one of the best ways to assess tactical risk and can help management address future risk mitigation goals. This author has not completely thought-out their message, nor do they fully understand the topic. It seems more like an attempt to defend their process against processes like ours. Some of the reasons he points out are interesting but we tackle those issues in our qualitative risk assessment of organizational regulations and goals. Asset-based risk assessment is only a small part of our complete formula at SBS CyberSecurity, which I will firmly debate with anyone after being in this industry for over 2 decades. Krebs - NY Charges First American Financial for Massive Data Leak

In May 2019, KrebsOnSecurity broke the news that the website of mortgage title insurance giant First American Financial Corp. had exposed approximately 885 million records related to mortgage deals going back to 2003.
