US-CERT - NCCIC Awareness Briefing on Chinese Malicious Cyber Activity

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) will conduct a series of virtual awareness briefings on Chinese malicious cyber activity targeting managed service providers (MSPs). Briefings will be held from 1–2 p.m. ET on the dates listed below:

CISA encourages MSPs and their customers to register for the briefing by clicking on one of the dates listed above. The briefing will provide a background on the identified cyber activity and mitigation techniques.

Krebs - NY Charges First American Financial for Massive Data Leak

In May 2019, KrebsOnSecurity broke the news that the website of mortgage title insurance giant First American Financial Corp. had exposed approximately 885 million records related to mortgage deals going back to 2003. On Wednesday, regulators in New York announced that First American was the target of their first ever cybersecurity enforcement action in connection with the incident, charges that could bring steep financial penalties.
