US-CERT - Microsoft Releases Out-of-Band Security Updates

Microsoft has released out-of-band security updates to address vulnerabilities in Microsoft software. A remote attacker could exploit of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) encourages users and administrators to review Microsoft Security Advisories for CVE-2019-1367, CVE-2019-1255, and Microsoft’s Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer and apply the necessary updates.

Krebs - NY Charges First American Financial for Massive Data Leak

In May 2019, KrebsOnSecurity broke the news that the website of mortgage title insurance giant First American Financial Corp. had exposed approximately 885 million records related to mortgage deals going back to 2003. On Wednesday, regulators in New York announced that First American was the target of their first ever cybersecurity enforcement action in connection with the incident, charges that could bring steep financial penalties.
