The Hacker News - New SH1MMER Exploit for Chromebook Unenrolls Managed ChromeOS Devices

A new exploit has been devised to "unenroll" enterprise- or school-managed Chromebooks from administrative control. Enrolling ChromeOS devices makes it possible to enforce device policies as set by the organization via the Google Admin console, including the features that are available to users. "Each enrolled device complies with the policies you set until you wipe or deprovision it," Google

Krebs - NY Charges First American Financial for Massive Data Leak

In May 2019, KrebsOnSecurity broke the news that the website of mortgage title insurance giant First American Financial Corp. had exposed approximately 885 million records related to mortgage deals going back to 2003. On Wednesday, regulators in New York announced that First American was the target of their first ever cybersecurity enforcement action in connection with the incident, charges that could bring steep financial penalties.
