US-CERT - VMware Releases Security Updates

Original release date: April 12, 2019

VMware has released security updates to address vulnerabilities in ESXi, Workstation, and Fusion. An attacker could exploit some of these vulnerabilities to obtain sensitive information.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) encourages users and administrators to review VMware Security Advisory VMSA-2019-0006 and apply the necessary updates.

The Hacker News - Phishing Campaign Hits 80+ Orgs Using SimpleHelp and ScreenConnect RMM Tools

An active phishing campaign has been observed targeting multiple vectors since at least April 2025, with legitimate Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software as a way to establish persistent remote access to compromised hosts.
