US-CERT - Google Releases Security Updates for Chrome OS

Original release date: June 27, 2019

Google has released Chrome OS version 75.0.3770.102 for Chrome devices. This version addresses multiple vulnerabilities that an attacker could exploit to obtain sensitive information.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) encourages users and administrators to review the Google Chrome blog entry and apply the necessary updates.

Krebs - NY Charges First American Financial for Massive Data Leak

In May 2019, KrebsOnSecurity broke the news that the website of mortgage title insurance giant First American Financial Corp. had exposed approximately 885 million records related to mortgage deals going back to 2003. On Wednesday, regulators in New York announced that First American was the target of their first ever cybersecurity enforcement action in connection with the incident, charges that could bring steep financial penalties.
